City leaders were invited by The Tellus Development Group to visit the Windsong Ranch development in Prosper, Texas. Windsong Ranch is a prototype for a proposed development in McLendon-Chisholm’s ETJ, which would be known as Mann Ranch.

“It is important to see firsthand if this type of development will benefit our community and enhance the lifestyle of our residents so that we can decide if it is a good fit with the vision for our City’s future,” said City Administrator Konrad Hildebrandt.

The Windsong development is a master-planned community that includes a lagoon with sandy beaches, parks and trails, a community amenity center with recreational facilities and upscale homes.

The proposed Mann Ranch development in McLendon-Chisholm is in the early stages of discussion. It would encompass 1,100 acres and is located at the southern edge of McLendon-Chisholm extending into Kaufman County within the City’s ETJ.

Santa visiting with local children.

McLendon-Chisholm’s big red Fire Rescue truck delivered Santa to the waiting children at City Hall. Crowds gathered in anticipation to watch the annual live-tree lighting and just like that… the Christmas spirit had arrived in McLendon-Chisholm.

The City’s 4th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting was a huge success. Citizen’s enjoyed community, hot cocoa and delicious cookies and shared the spirit of Christmas by donating unwrapped gifts for our Toy Drive. City Hall twinkled with lights, whilst the community room glittered with an amazing display of holiday decor. A special reading by Santa himself of T’was the Night Before Christmas was followed by the children visiting with Santa and sharing their Christmas wishes.

Thank you to City staff, Council, volunteers and MC Fire Rescue for making this a wonderful night for all to remember.

Don’t forget to keep the Christmas spirit going this holiday season by visiting City Hall to donate an unwrapped gift for our Toy Drive and non-perishable food for our Food Drive.
