The City of McLendon-Chisholm is accepting applications for two alternate positions on the Board of Adjustment.
The Board of Adjustment authorizes variances from the zoning ordinance when it is not contrary to the public interest. Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month when there is a case to be heard. The application for appointment to the Board is available on the City website or by contacting the City Secretary.
Applications should be returned to the City Secretary at citysecretary@mclendon-chisholm.com, by mail, or in person. Applications must be received no later than Friday, January 21, 2022.
A big red Fire Rescue truck delivered Santa to the waiting children at City Hall. Crowds gathered to watch the annual live-tree lighting under perfectly clear skies and just like that… the Christmas spirit had arrived in McLendon-Chisholm.
The City’s 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting was a huge success. Citizen’s enjoyed community, hot cocoa and delicious cookies and shared the spirit of Christmas by donating unwrapped gifts for our Toy Drive. A special reading by Mayor Keith Short of T’was the Night Before Christmas was followed by the children visiting Santa and sharing their Christmas wishes.
Thank you to City staff, Council, volunteers and MC Fire Rescue for making this a wonderful night for all to remember.

2021 MCTXThe McLendon-Chisholm City Council adopted the 2021-2040 Comprehensive Plan at the September 29 City Council meeting.
The Comprehensive Plan was created by the community utilizing relevant information from the previous Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2016, feedback from multiple sources including an online community survey and in-person community forum, and the direction provided by the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC).
“The Comprehensive Plan is a very important best practice tool that captures the vision of what the community wants to be in the future and defines how we get there,” said Mayor Keith Short. “We thank everyone involved in this effort, including the volunteers who served on the CPAC, our citizens and city staff.”
What is a Comprehensive Plan?
A Comprehensive Plan, also known as a general plan, master plan or land use plan, is a document designed to guide the future actions of a city. The comprehensive plan presents a vision for the future with long-range goals and objectives for all activities that affect the local government.

The City of McLendon-Chisholm will host a free recycling, shredding and bulky trash event for McLendon-Chisholm residential CWD customers on Saturday, October 16 from 8 a.m. to noon at Chisholm Baptist Church, 1388 SH 205.

Rockwall County now has a monoclonal antibody treatment center located on Rockwall County property between the Library and Courthouse near 1111 E Yellow Jacket Ln.
This treatment center opened Monday, September 6th, and is operated by MDLabs, the Rockwall County partner that administered vaccines out of Wilkerson Stadium. This treatment center will aid in keeping people with COVID-19 out of local hospitals. Treatment works best if a COVID-positive person receives the monoclonal antibody treatment within the first five days of symptom onset. However, individuals are eligible to receive treatment up to 10 days after symptom onset. Patients must be observed for one hour after treatment to ensure no adverse effects are experienced.
It is preferred that patients have a referral from a doctor and schedule an appointment. However, there is limited capability to assess and provide a patient referral on-site if necessary. There is limited capacity for walkups. However, walkup availability is not guaranteed. Walkups without a referral will take longer to process than someone with an appointment and doctor’s referral. MDLabs will collect insurance information and file an administration claim; however, a co-pay/payment will not be collected. Insurance companies are paying administration fees for the antibody treatments just as they do with vaccines. Filing for the administration fee is how MDLabs can support Rockwall County, and no one will be denied treatment based on insurance coverage.

The City is aware of several complaints regarding RCH Water Supply Company in regard to water service disconnects due a previous account holder’s failure to pay.
The City encourages anyone experiencing this situation to file a complaint with the Public Utility Commission (PUC) of Texas.
The City also encourages customers to contact us once such complaints have been reported to the PUC. Customers may also call the Public Utility Commission at 888-782-8477 for additional guidance.
A wonderful new addition to the McLendon-Chisholm community is Rosini Vineyards, located on 25 acres at 411 State Highway 205 within the city limits.

The Rosini’s one-of-a-kind wines are made from grapes grown on the property’s vineyard, as well as from the high plains, east Texas and central Texas.
There is a tasting room and barrel room for sampling the Rosini Vineyards blends, with a menu that includes a variety of flatbreads, paninis, and small bites. Reservations are not required, but recommended for groups of six or more.
The property is also available for private events, and includes a four-bedroom, five-bath Ranch house with a pool that can be reserved via VRBO.
