NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS, THAT:

The City Council of the City of McLendon-Chisholm, Texas, will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of an ordinance amending Chapter 3, “Building Regulations,” of the Code of Ordinances by adding Article 3.09, entitled “Short-Term Rentals.”

The proposed ordinance establishes regulations for the registration, permitting, and operation of short-term rental properties within the City. It provides enforcement and penalty provisions, outlines operational and safety standards, and ensures compliance with hotel occupancy tax requirements in accordance with Chapter 351 of the Texas Tax Code.

A public hearing will be held by and before the City Council of the City of McLendon-Chisholm, Texas, on the 9^th day of December 2025, at 5:30 p.m., in the City Council Chamber of McLendon-Chisholm City Hall, 1371 West FM 550, McLendon-Chisholm, Texas 75032, for all persons interested in the above-proposed ordinance.

The City of McLendon-Chisholm, Texas, proposes to institute voluntary annexation proceedings to enlarge and extend the boundary limits of said City to include the following described territory, to wit:

A 113.676-acre tract of land situated in the K. Latham Survey, Abstract No. 133, and the R.Peckum Survey, Abstract No. 175, Rockwall County, Texas, being a portion of a called 360.295-acre tract of land owned by Willow Creek 360 LP, generally located south of FM 550, between Smith Road and State Highway 205, and contiguous to the existing city limits of McLendon-Chisholm, Texas.

The proposed annexation will incorporate the above-described property into the corporate limits of the City of McLendon-Chisholm in conjunction with the Annexation Service Plan, which identifies the municipal services to be provided upon annexation in accordance with Chapter 43 of the Texas Local Government Code.

A public hearing will be held by and before the City Council of the City of McLendon-Chisholm, Texas, on the 10th day of November, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., in the City Council Chamber of McLendon-Chisholm City Hall, 1371 West FM 550, McLendon-Chisholm, Texas 75032, for all persons interested in the above proposed annexation.

At said time and place, all such persons shall have the right to appear and be heard. Of all said matters and things, all persons interested in the matters herein mentioned will take notice. By order of the City Council of the City of McLendon-Chisholm, Texas, this the 28th day of October 2025.

A quorum of McLendon-Chisholm City Council Members may be in attendance on Tuesday, August 26 at 6:30 p.m. at a gathering to celebrate the Retirement of Chief Simmons to be held in the Tate Farms Chapel, 12992 S FM 548, McLendon-Chisholm, Texas 75032.

This is not the regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council, but this notice is being posted in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act. As a governmental body, the City Council will not deliberate, take any formal action on any items discussed, and meeting minutes will not be recorded.

The City of McLendon-Chisholm will be holding a series of Town Hall Meetings introducing and answering questions about the proposed Home Rule Charter which will be presented to the voters in the May 3, 2025 Special Election.

Town Hall Meetings will be held on the following dates:

Wednesday April 9, 2025 6:30 – 7:30
Thursday April 17, 2025 6:30-7:30

There will be no City business conducted during these Town Hall Meetings. The meetings are City Hall, 1371 West FM 550, McLendon-Chisholm. All are invited to attend.

The City Council has been invited to participate in a “Sneak Peak” tour of the Rockwall-Heath Ninth-Grade Campus, providing an opportunity to observe the state-of-the-art facilities that shape the future of our ninth graders.

The Event will take place on Friday, August 2, 2024, between 11:00am and 1:00pm at 727 South John King Blvd. next to the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy

There will be no City business conducted during this tour.
