AN OPEN LETTER TO THE VOTING MEMBERS OF THE MVCFD
THE CITIZENS OF MCLENDON-CHISHOLM
Yesterday, April 18, 2018, I sent the following email to Chief Jones
I wanted to let you know the council approved the resolution to begin purchasing apparatuses and equipment to continue to round out the Municipal Fire Department, not to exceed $200,000 a year.
The reason I’m bringing this to you is to let you know that if the members of MCVFD have a change of heart and wants to sign the contract by Friday at 5pm that would bring the two entities together, I will get it added to the agenda for Tuesday to get signed on the City’s side.
I’m still trying to get the two sides together. That was the plan all along by the MCVFD and the City was to combine. This is the chance to do it before purchases and obligations are made.
Please consider this option with your members.

Today, April 19, 2018, I received this response from Chief Jones.
Please send to me as soon as possible, no later than cob today the contract you are asking the membership to consider.”
As requested I supplied Jones a copy of the original Transition to City contract with minor changes made to update the effective and performance dates that have already past.
Here are links to both the original and updated contracts so all interested parties can identify the changes made.
It remains mine and the City Councils hope that the MCVFD will reconsider and sign this contract to transition into the McLendon-Chisholm Fire Rescue Department.
