UTILITY & TRASH FAQ’S
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE UTILITY BILLING TRANSITION PROCESS FROM CWD TO INFRAMARK?
There are three entities involved:
- Community Waste Disposal (CWD) – trash and recycling provider and former utility billing.
- Inframark – trash and recycling utility billing and existing sanitary sewer utility billing and operation and maintenance (O&M).
- The City of McLendon Chisholm (MC), TX – overall recipient of services.
The City receives non-fixed monthly revenues and variable invoices (expenses). Keeping a specific count on homes for sewer is mostly fixed, due to the influent cost, the O&M cost and the weather cost. Variable expenses can create problems. The City pays monthly influent fees to the City of Rockwall for sanitary sewer, that is also related to outside precipitation and irrigation. The City also pays monthly fees for the O&M of this system.
With trash and recycling, the City experiences new move-ins, move outs, new homes and the annual and contractual increase in gas prices, Consumer Price Index (CPI) and disposal adjustments, adding to the non-fixed nature of utility billing and collections.
