COFFEE CHATS HAVE GONE VIRTUAL
Early this year, I suggested an idea of hosting morning meetings, called Coffee Chats with our Mayor and/or Council Members. We had a kick off to Coffee Chats where each week in February we had a schedule set for City Officials to meet with Citizens in the Council Chamber mostly early in the morning or on a Saturday from 7am to 10am. I did not know what type of turnout to expect. Nor if anyone would respond to share their concerns or ask questions. So far they have been GREAT!
Then we hosted another one at the quarter of the year on April 12, 2018. Which I forsee as an ongoing quarterly event. Recently, I had an email from a Citizen who mentioned that he would come, but has been unable to because of work and studies. It solidified the conversation that I had previously with Mayor Steinhagen to take advantage of live broadcasting. It would be able to accommodate those who are in the same situation. My husband leaves early to avoid Dallas traffic. And let’s face it…late starts can keep you from getting to work on time.
TODAY we went LIVE from City Hall with Mayor Steinhagen, Council Member Scott Turnbull and I called in on a separate line. We had two callers, Carol Rosini, Rosini Vineyards and Brian Caldronia. We discussed a variety of subjects such as ETJ 4,000 Acres, Citizen Survey, developers, MCVFD, differences between basic life saving and advanced life saving support.
So tell me MC what are some hot topics that you want discussed at our next Live Broadcast? Thank you to the listeners we look forward to hearing from you. What did you think about our first broadcast? Can you call our City Secretary to share your thoughts about it or send us an email. We will greatly appreciate your feedback.
