Blackland WSC Workshop

The City of McLendon-Chisholm has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Blackland Water Supply Corporation. Blackland WSC will work with Sonoma Verde developers to bring an 8 inch water line from FM 550 into the development to connect the water distribution system, providing water to Phase 3 and Phase 5.

Construction of the water line will take approximately 60 days. Further discussion regarding the transition of remaining phases is planned.

The City is working on an agreement to expand Blackland Water Supply Corporation’s ability to provide potable water to McLendon-Chisholm. This also included removing the flat rate sewer fee and replacing with a fee based on consumption, for those who live in Sonoma Verde. This will result in a combined utility bill of water, sewer and trash services.

The City is going through the PUC process so that service to the City limits can be granted. The City of McLendon-Chisholm is complying with the provisions set out in Chapter 13 of the Texas Water Code, as applicable, and the corresponding Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC) regulations.
